A staff member in the hotel’s operations department ensures that the hotel practices are environmentally-friendly by separating the garbage - paper is donated to a recycling center and glass and metal are collected for re-use – and ensuring that oils and soaps are properly disposed of so as not to pollute the waterways.
We protect the natural areas around the hotel and encourage our guests to visit the country’s protected areas and reserves.
The hotel owners are reforesting a 50 acre (20 ha.) farm in the San Juan River area with about 100 different species of trees.
