Description of the area:

Hotel Catamarán is a hotel with an ecological philosophy, surrounded by thick vegetation. The bungalows along the river receive the natural breezes and afford a spectacular view. They do not have telephones or televisions for a more tranquil environment that allows true relaxation.

Tourist attractions near the hotel are El Castillo de San Felipe, Livingston, Lago de Izabal, and the Río Dulce Biotope, a very attractive tourist site that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the largest lake in Guatemala: Lake Izabal. The flora and fauna are spectacular and the people of the area are very friendly.
