Description of the area:

At our hostel and campground we are dedicated to sustainable tourism, ecotourism, agrotourism, and environmental education. We are in Pallatanga, Chimborazo province, only two hours from the city of Guayaquil, where you can enjoy nature immersed in the biological diversity of the surroundings.

We have comfortable tents that are fully equipped, double and quadruple rooms in cabins, bathrooms with hot water, an exclusive restaurant, outdoor grills, hammocks, volleyball and soccer courts, pool and ping-pong tables, mountain bicycles, and wooden carts. You can also enjoy guided walks in the mountains, bird-watching, an energizing dip in the waterfall, and tubing. And at night there are campfires along the Coco River, theatre, and karaoke-bars.

On our rustic grills built with bamboo, you can cook your own foods with produce from our farm and the area.

Our Ecovita Organic Farm is the only one in the region that has been producing vegetables with completely natural processes since 1999. You can learn all about organic agriculture and take part in farming by helping to prepare seedbeds, till and fertilize land, harvest your own foods, milk cows, and make cheese.

From our facilities, one can visit:

  • The "Sal Si Puedes" bridge, the longest bridge of its kind in the nation.

  • Nevado del Chimborazo: you can enjoy an excursion to the highest snow-capped peak in Ecuador (6,810 masl) where, in only 2 hours, you can see its flora and fauna (vicuñas).

  • Laguna de Colta: 75 minutes away you can see totora - an edible reed that is the raw material for furniture and handicrafts.

  • Balbanera Church: 75 minutes away, this is the oldest church in Ecuador.
