Description of the area:

We have an excellent location between Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes, in Guanacaste province, Costa Rica. On a clear day, you can see Nicaragua from the lodge’s eastern windows; you can also explore the forest canopy on our hanging bridges, visit ecologically friendly farms, watch birds of an array of species, and visit the Rio Celeste, which through a particular natural phenomenon, has turquoise waters that give it a mysterious beauty.

The above, together with an excellent kitchen and friendly service, makes this place a unique option for visitors.

    Making a difference:

  • We conserve biodiversity in the reserve and protect the forest.
  • Life has improved for members of the Bijagueña Farmers’ Association (ABIPA) and the local community.

  • We promote environmental education in the community.

  • We consume local products, thus helping vegetable and other farmers in our area.

  • We provide incentives for local people to become involved in activities other than agriculture.

  • We plant trees for reforestation.

  • We have a recycling program together with the school in our community.

  • We manage our waste properly (organic waste is composted).
