Description of the area:
Surrounded by tropical forest and landscapes of the highlands of Cruz Island in the Galapagos Islands, the ocean and neighboring islands, the Hotel Royal Palm is an exclusive site for those who appreciate nature and long for privacy. Designed and built with extreme sensitivity to the setting, the hotel offers luxury, comfort, and services of international quality. Located in the center of Santa Cruz Island, it is close to two embarkation points for excursions and only 10 minutes from the main farms where you can visit giant tortoises in their natural state.
From the Hotel it is possible to go on excursions to the nearby islands of Seymour, Bartolomé, Plazas, Santa Fe, and others. Hotel personnel will help you coordinate tours to the main atraccións of the island and the nearby beaches.

How to get there:
Once our visitors reach the Galapagos, they don't have to worry about transportation. We have a VIP room in the airport to receive our travelers and from there we transport them to the hotel at our cost.
Making a difference:
We have an internal recycling program that complements an existing program in the Municipality of Santa Cruz, which is recognized as the best recycling program in Ecuador.
There is also a reforestation project with endemic species underway, with the participation of Conservation International and the Hotel Royal Palm. This project is being implemented on 5 of the 202 hectares (12 of 500 acres) of hotel property as a trial for a long term plan on the entire property area.
We are developing a project to replace all our ornamental plants, most of which are species introduced to the islands, with endemic plants.
The general manager is a co-founder and professor of the Galapagos National Culinary College; when the level of occupancy allows, hotel executives also give classes and talks.
The Hotel Royal Palm makes an effort to hire local personnel and we are proud to say that 80% of our employees are local people.
We work with SmartVoyager and the Rainforest Alliance,to continue improving our práctices toward achieving excellence, in the hotel area and in our environmental, social, and economic contributions.
