Description of the area:
Puerto Vallarta is host to some exciting and diverse natural areas. There are many ways to take in the natural beauty of the area including: visiting any of our beautiful beaches, fishing, golf, horseback riding, scuba and snorkeling, water and beach sports, dolphin and whale watching and hiking/biking. Those wanting to add a little zip to their lives can try the zipline canopy tours, a high speed trip through the treetops of the surrounding tropical forest. Guided horseback tours can be to some of the less accessible areas of the island offer a unique perspective of the landscape. To see the land from a bird’s eye view, take an airplane tour or explore the coastal waters with a guided boat tour.
Our downtown area is home to dozens of exquisite restaurants where you can enjoy the finest in local and international cuisine.
Our famous Malecon is a mile-long oceanfront boardwalk that runs along the main street in downtown Puerto Vallarta. It begins at the first hotel built in Vallarta in the 1940s (The Hotel Rosita) and ends at an open air theater known as Los Arcos, or The Arches.
