Description of the area:
Villas Sol is located in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste near the famous Gulf of Papagayo. Playa Hermosa is a beautiful gray sand beach with calm waters that has been awarded the Blue Flag eco-label. It is a very popular destination for scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling and sport fishing.
The renowned dive spots, the Bat Islands and the Catalina Islands, are nearby where divers will experience large schools of manta rays, bull sharks, sea turtles, whale sharks, dolphins and white-tip sharks among other exotic Pacific Ocean wildlife.
Witch’s Rock and Ollie’s Point are located only 45 minutes away by boat and are Costa Rica’s most popular and high-quality surf spots. These surf spots where featured in the popular surf film “Endless Summer II” directed by famous surfer & filmmaker Bruce Brown and starring Robert Weaver, Pat O’Connell and surf legend Robert August.
Nearby, tourists will be also be able to explore the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, Guaitil Pottery Town, Las Baulas and Ostional National Parks, the hot springs at Tabacon Resort & Spa and the majestic Arenal Volcano.
